Job Description
Wagstaff Law Firm is seeking an Associate Attorney passionate about legal writing and briefing to join our growing team! As an Associate Attorney at Wagstaff, you'll play a vital role in shaping the legal strategies behind our cases and contributing to our success in Mass Tort litigation. This position requires exceptional legal writing skills, meticulous attention to detail, a strong analytical mindset, and a knack for research. Essential Job Functions
- Perform in-depth legal research and analysis to develop and support case strategies
- Draft persuasive legal briefs, motions, and memoranda of law
- Collaborate with attorneys to refine and develop case arguments
- Review and edit legal documents to ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance with court rules
- Monitor and analyze legal developments, case law, and procedural updates
- Communicate research findings and recommendations effectively to attorneys
- Prepare summaries of case law and other legal precedents to aid in litigation
- Assist in preparing appellate briefs and other high-level legal documents
- Maintain organized and accurate legal research files and resources
- Support case progression by providing well-crafted written advocacy
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the legal team and case objectives
Qualifications & Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- 3-5 years of experience as a practicing attorney, specializing in legal writing, research, or appellate work
- Demonstrated expertise in drafting persuasive legal briefs, motions, and memoranda
- Strong knowledge of federal and state court procedures and filing requirements
- Proficiency in using legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis
- Proven ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide strategic recommendations
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with attorneys
- Experience in mass tort, complex litigation, or appellate law preferred
